October 7, 2015 Bonding At The Beach
Our trip this weekend to Cultas Lake British Columbia was a great bonding experience with my daughter. It was another wonderful opportunity to practice our Punjabi away from home in the super natural beauty of British Columbia. Surrounded by lush green trees, the calmness of the lake, family picnics, boaters and water skiers in the distance, we took our time collecting a pile of pebbles and rocks. We then sat on the pier at the lake with our feet dangling in the water.
Intending to throw the rocks in the water and watch the ripples, a game idea quickly emerged. We chose a rock for each member of our family and friends. Before throwing it in the water, we used positive words to describe each member and all the qualities we appreciated about them. We then chose positive Punjabi words to send good energy their way and watched the ripples of water spead wider as the rocks hit the water. Such a simple time – yet so fulfilling.
