October 6, 2015 Punjabi -The Link Between Generations

Welcome to my very first blog!

The idea of starting this venture blossomed from my own experiences in trying to teach my daughter the Punjabi language while living in a western culture. When I began looking for materials and resources for her to learn, I found she was not interested in learning Punjabi as much as she was interested in learning English. One of the main things was a lack of quality in the learning materials. My daughter practically begged me to read her a bedtime story in English but did not have the same level of enthusiasm when I picked up a Punjabi book. I started to look for creative ways to teach Punjabi to my daughter. I started singing nursery rhymes in Punjabi and attemted and started to get small groups of children together to test my homemade Punjabi lessons

My passion is to help children learn languages in a fun and interactive way through online learning and other quality products. My beliefs is that LANGUAGE helps keep cultures alive and is an integral part of any culture. It also helps to bridge the gap between generations and preserve knowledge. Language enables us to keep an accurate account of our histories as lived by our ancestors. I chose to begin with the Punjabi language because it is my native tongue, however, I plan to create many more language learning sites in other languages in the future.
